Puan Alina holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Chisholm Institute of Technology (now known as "Monash University") and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), Australia, Chartered Accountant, MIA and Certified Financial Planner, FPAM. She is also a council member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Vice President of the Malaysian Association of Accounts Administrator.

She started her career in 1990 as an Account Officer in TDM Berhad before joining Southern Finance Berhad as Manager, Credit Control Administration in 1992. In June 2004, she was attached to Utusan Publication & Distribution Sdn Bhd as Manager, Finance and Admin for 2 months before joining Amanah Raya Berhad. Presently, she is the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the overall function of the Finance and Accounts Department.
